| Description | On 15th July 1953, an emergency feeding exercise was carried out by the Staffordshire County Council Emergency Feeding Authorities, in conjunction with the Ministry of Food Midland Regional Headquarters. The exercise took place at the works of Cannon (Holdings) Ltd., Coseley.
The exercise consisted of teaching the participants (members of local authorities and the Women's Civil Defence Volunteers) how to build and use improvised emergency cookers. This was done in order to prepare for emergencies such as floods or other disasters.
