| Description | Elijah Wells was a Bombardier in the Royal Regiment of Artillery when he was captured during the Second World War (1939-1945). Elijah was imprisoned in Stalag XXI A in Ostrzeszów, Poland. His brother Thomas attempted to get Elijah repatriated.
Thomas Wells was an active local politician. Highlights of Thomas's political career include twice being Chairman of the Brierley Hill Urban District Council and being the first Mayor of the new county borough of Dudley. |
