Description | Walter Somers Works in the background.
Panorama from the Dudley No.2 Canal in May 1974. In the 1970s the land between Mucklow Hill and Gorsty Hill was cleared of old industrial buildings for redevelopment.
The three tower blocks on Spring Hill dominate the central part of Halesowen, though the church steeple is still a prominent landmark.
To the right can be seen the greenery which flanks the River Stour and which today is an important element in the Linear Open Space.
The skyline is dominated by the 'twin peaks' of Walton and Clent. |
