| Description | 'The Rap Attack' Hip Hop Festival at the Shaw Theatre, Euston Road, London. The festival, with grant aid from the GLC, consisted of a series of workshops during the week and a Hip Hop Jam on the Saturday. Musicians Afrika Bambaataa, Lisa Lee, Jazzy Joyce and DJ Red Alert - and graffiti artist Brim Fuentes were invited over from New York to run a series of Hip Hop workshops for young people at Easter. Film makers Dick Fontaine and Gus Coral filmed parts of the festival, and also met Goldie who travelled down to London with the Wolverhampton B Boys and their agent Martin Jones. Goldie became the UK figurehead for Hip Hop and later travelled to New York with Martin Jones and B Boy dancer Birdie to complete Dick Fontaine's documentary. |
