DescriptionDSCAM/5/8/6/1: Lease and release (12-13 Aug. 1795) by Thomas Hawkes of Goswell Street, parish of St James Clerkenwell, Middlesex, merchant (devisee in trust and executor of Thomas Hawkes of Dudley, gentleman), with the consent of Abiathar Hawkes of Dudley, glass merchant (a trustee of the marriage settlement of Mary Hawkes and Isaac Mason), William Wallis Mason of Birmingham, Warwickshire, merchant (another trustee of the marriage settlement and executor of Ann Hawkes, one of the daughters of Thomas Hawkes) and Mary Mason of Birmingham, widow (of Isaac Mason of Birmingham, merchant, also an executor of the will of Ann Hawkes; another daughter of Thomas Hawkes), to Joseph Bourne the elder of Dudley, grocer (trustee), of a third part of 3 dwellinghouses and 5 closes of land called Austin Barbers, near Cinder Banks in the parish of Dudley, and of lands (3r. 3p., 3r. 20p.) in Greystone Field, of Finches Furlong (1a. 3r. 30p.), of the top of Cookes Tetnall (3r. 4p.), of Bailies Acre (2r. 24p.), and of seven-eighths of the minerals under Austin Barbers (4a. 0r. 12p.), all Dudley, and of all other lands held by Thomas Hawkes deceased in partnership with Henry and Anthony Badley; to the use of Thomas Bourne, with power of appointment, as specified, subject to a mortgage of £550 to Edward Robinson of Holly Hall; consideration of £2000 by Thomas Hawkes to the others in portions unspecified; recites the will of Thomas Hawkes of Dudley subsequent disputes and arbitration award.
DSCAM/5/8/6/2: Assignment (13 Aug. 1795) by same, with the same consents, to Bourne, of one third share in 13 parcels (39 acres) of land (named), near the Anabaptist Meeting House at Dixon's Green, parish of Dudley, and underlying minerals, for the residue of a term of 1000 years created by Oliver Dixon in 1766 as recited, in trust for T. Hawkes; consideration of £2000 and £666 13s 4d by T. Hawkes to discharge one third of the mortgage debt of £2000 due to Samuel Peach [See DSCAM/5/8/5 series]; recites previous deeds.
DSCAM/5/8/6/3: Lease and release (29-30 Sept. 1795) by John Badley of Blowers Green, parish of Dudley, Worcs., gentleman (eldest son and devisee of Henry Badley of the parish of Dudley, mercer, deceased), Thomas Hawkes and Joseph Bourne the elder, to Abiathar Hawkes, of the entirety of 3r. 3p. in Greystone Field, Finches Furlong, Cookes Tetnall and the seven-eighths of the minerals under Austin Barbors, all Dudley [some of the premises in #1]; consideration of £3450.
DSCAM/5/8/6/4: Lease and release (29-30 Sept. 1795) by same to same, of a messuage, a cotttage, land called Farther Aston Barbors (3 acres), a barn and 4 acres of land, and Hither Aston Barbers (2 acres), all together at Netherton in the parish of Dudley, subject to a mortgage of £550 to Edward Robinson; consideration of £2900, plus £550 to discharge the mortgage; recites previous deeds [see DSCAM/5/8/2 series].
DSCAM/5/8/6/5: Assignment (30 Sept. 1795) by same to same, of the 1000 year leasehold premises as in #2; consideration of £900, and £2000 to be paid to discharge Samuel Peach's mortgage..
DSCAM/5/8/6/6: Mortgage bond (30 Jan. 1796) by John Badley and Thomas Hawkes to William Clare of Nordley, parish of Alveley, Salop, gentleman, to secure £1000 and interest.
DSCAM/5/8/6/7-8: Mortgage (30 June 1796) by demise of 1000 years, by Abiathar Hawkes of Dudley, glass merchant, to John Marrian of Blacklands, parish of Bobbington. Staffs., gentleman, of a close in Greystone Field, parish of Dudley (3r. 3p.), Finches Furlong (1a. 3r. 30p.) and at the top of Cookes Tetnall (3r. 4p.), all Dudley, to secure £200 and interest as per bond #8 recited; with endorsed vacating receipt, 23 Nov. 1811. And bond of same date between the same parties.
