DSCAM/5/3/5/2: Deed of dissolution (16 May 1850) of the partnership (commenced 8 May 1849) between John Hartland of Westbromwich, Staffs., ironmaster and Edward Lowe Cresswell and Josiah Cresswell of Tipton, Staffs., ironmasters, under the style of The Birmingham Cut Nail Company; Cresswells take over Hartland's share of the partnership and liabilities in return for 3 x promissory note sof £100 each payable at 3 months, 6 months and 9 months.
DSCAM/5/3/5/3: Deed of dissolution (29 Sept. 1853) of the partnership (commenced 13 Feb. 1850) between John Turton of Sedgley, Staffs., nail manufacturer and Josiah Cresswell of Woodsetton, parish of Sedgley, ironmaster; Cresswell takes on Turton's share of the partnership for £550; Turton covenants not to engage in the manufacture of wrought nails for 3 years within 150 miles of Sedgley.
DSCAM/5/3/5/4-5: Articles of copartnership (1 June 1854) between Edward Lowe Cresswell of Dudley, Worcs., ironmaster and Josiah Cresswell of Woodsetton, Sedgley, Staffs., ironmaster, as ironmasters at the Tipton Iron Works, under the style of Edward Cresswell and Sons, for an indefinite period in equal shares. And deed of variation (2 Oct. 1858) of clause 27 in the principal deed concerning the purchase by the surviving partner of the share of a deceased partner.
DSCAM/5/3/5/6: Proposal of Messrs Cresswell for making a composition of 2s 6d in the £ with creditors and carrying on business under a deed of inspection; 1859.
DSCAM/5/3/5/7: Draft circular letter to the creditors of Messrs Cresswell and Jones explaining that the deferred dividend of 1s 3d in the pound cannot be met, and proposing an alternative schedule of payments, 14 Mar. 1861.
DSCAM/5/3/5/8: Agreement (18 Jan. 1862) between John Cleveland Green of Westbromwich, Staffs. (manager and agent for the Dudley and Westbromwich Banking Company) and Edward Lowe Cresswell and Josiah Cresswell of Tipton, trading as Edward Cresswell and Sons, revising the terms on which they occupy the Tipton Iron Works as tenants of the bank; they to pay £250 towards £875 arrears, to pay £175 a month until arrears cleared then £125 a month as rent as monthly tenants, to keep £1000 of distrainable stock on the premises, if required will take a lease of the premises at £1000 p.a. terminating at 10 years from this date; recites previous terms and composition between the Creswells and their creditors of 5/- in the £ etc.
