DSCAM/5/2/8/3: Attested copy of the will (dated 14 Apr. 1846) of John Turton Fereday of the Quarries, parish of Sedgley, Staffs., gentleman; executors, Edwin Heming Fereday and Richard William Fereday (sons) and Samuel Day Fereday (nephew); all estate upon trust for sale; legacy of £50 to son, Charles Henry Fereday, sinking into residuary estate if the testator's estate be less than £5000; £200 to furnish home for his unmarried daughters, or select from his effects to that value; balance to be divided between such of his 6 children (Edwin Heming, Richard William, Henry Turton, Emmeline Harriet, Frederick Francis and Adelaide Rosaline) as reach 21 years of age, except that the share of Edwin Heming Fereday shall be invested and only the income paid to him for 10 years after the testator's death, and should Edwin become bankrupt etc in that time, his share shall go to Richard William Fereday; 'I am sure that my son Charles as also my son Richard and my daughter Mistress Ann Elizabeth Bickley will feel that in their worldly prospects they have advantages which their brothers and sisters can hardly expect to realize.'.
