DescriptionDSCAM/5/2/1/1-2: Pre-nuptial (30 July 1717) of Jevon Ashenhurst Bagley and Elizabeth Marsh; made between: Dudley Ashenhurst Bagley of Barrett Feilds in the parish of Sedgley, Staffs., gentleman and Ann(e) his wife, and Jevon [or Jeven] Ashenhurst Bagley their eldest son; and Ann(e) Marsh of Wardly Wigan, Worcs., widow and Elizabeth Marsh one of her daughters; George Bayne of Marthe, Worcs., gentleman and John Marsh alias Dudley of Russells Hall, parish of Dudley, Worcs., gentleman; and John Hayes of Wolverhampton, Staffs., gentlemen. Marriage portion of £350, £150 paid and £200 secured Release by Dudley of his messuage at Barrett Feilds, another in Over Gornall, both in the parish of Sedgley, and various lands in the same parish as specified (acreages, abuttals and tenants given) and 5 acres of land at Eve Hill or Pattinghams Hill, near Russells Hall Lane, Dudley, and lands in Over Gornall and Nether Gornall in the parish of Sedgley, and tithes of hay and corn as specified; reserving Barretts Field and a few specified closes to Dudley Bagley for life, thence to the use of Jevon for life, and the other prmises to Jevon for life, thence to the use of Elizabeth for life, and then all to the use of the eldest son of the marriage and the heirs of his body, with remainders to the younger sons of the marriage and their issue successively, with remainder to the daughters of the marriage as tenants in common and the heirs of their bodies, thence to Jevon's issue by a subsequent marriage in similar fashion, with remainder to Ferdinando Ward Bagley (son of Dudley Ashenhurst Bagley) for life, thence to his issue in similar fashion, with ultimate remainder to Dudley Ashenhurst Bagley. Covenant to surrender base copyholds (specified) to the use of Dudley Ashenhurst Bagley for life thence as above. Term of years to secure a rentcharge to Anne Bagley of £15 p.a. during her widowhood on freehold premises in which Dudley Ashenhurst Bagley retained his life interest under the settlement. Covenant to levy a Fine.

DSCAM/5/2/1/3: Post-nuptial settlement (19 Apr. 1763) of Dudley Bagley of the parish of Sedgley, Staffs., gentleman and Ann his wife; trustees, John Marsh of Wombourn, Staffs., gentleman and Jeremiah Eginton of Rodbaston, Staffs., gentleman; messuage and lands at Barratsfields, parish of Sedgley, and other messuages and lands in that parish (abuttals given; tenants named), to such uses as Bagley and wife shall jointly appoint, and in default to the use of Bagley and wife for life, thence to the use of the eldest son of the marriage and the heirs of his body, with remainder to the other sons of the marriage successively and their issue, with remainder to the daughters of the marriage equally as tenants in common, with ultimate remainder to the right heirs of Dudley Bagley; power to raise £500 in total for portions of younger children; declarations of trust concerning wife's fortune of £400 over which she is to exercise apower of appointment.
DSCAM/5/2/1/4: Memorandum of agreement (2 Apr. 1811) between Dudley Bagley the elder of the parish of Sedgley, gentleman and Samuel Round of the parish of Rowley Regis, Staffs., farmer, for the sale of a messuage and 6 closes of land (12 acres) at Cakemore, parish of Hales Owen, Salop, for £950.
DSCAM/5/2/1/5-6: Appointment and bargain and sale and enfeoffment (4 Sept. 1807) by Edward Elliot of Tipton, Staffs., gentleman and Isaac Aston of the same, coalmaster, to Daniel Millis of Tipton, nailer and James Mills of Tipton, nailer (his trustee), of a plot of 208sq. yds of land in Tipton, to the use of Mills and Mills as specified; covenant by Daniel Mills to erect a wall; consideration of £20 16/-; livery of seisin endorsed.
Mortgage (3 Nov. 1812), by demise of 1000 years, of the plot of land at Tipton with a messuage erected upon it, by Mills and Mills to Dudley Bagley the elder of Ettingshall Park, parish of Sedgley, gentleman to secure £100 and interest; promissory note attached.
DSCAM/5/2/1/7-8: Counterpart release [lease wanting] (23 Dec. 1813) by Dudley Bagley the elder to Francis Hill of Foscoat, parish of Oldswinford, Worcs., gentleman and Francis Rufford the elder of Stourbridge, Worcs., banker (trustees on behalf of the creditors of Dudley Bagley the younger, a bankrupt); deed of arrangement to supersede the bankruptcy (wherein Bagley the elder is a creditor, and with which Samuel Fereday, son-in-law of Bagley the elder is also involved) and in connexion with other deeds of even date; conveys freehold lands at Lower Gilstones and Middle Gilstones etc., parish of Sedgley, and covenants to surrender copyhold lands there, upon trust to allow Bagley the elder a rent charge opf £30 p.a. from the premises for life, and otherwise upon trust to discharge the debts of Bagley the younger (by sale or mortgage of the premises etc.), in specified order starting with that of £260 for principal and interest to Bagley the elder due on a joint bond entered into by him and his son as specified, £200 due to Bagley in connexion with a mortgage to John Marsh, £130 to Bagley the elder for principal and interest on another joint bond, thence such sums as may be owed by Bagley the yonger to Messrs Fereday, Smith and Fisher of Bilston, Staffs., bankers and to Messsr Fereday, Fereday Turton and Walker (the Millfield Company) and to Messrs Fereday, Bickley and Smith of Bradley, Staffs., ironmasters, Messrs Francis Rufford and Thomas Biggs, banker in Stourbridge (£200 on a joint promissory note and £826 0s 8d on a bond of Bagley the younger and Fereday), thence other creditors proved under the bankruptcy; any balance to Bagley the younger; any unsold premises to the use of Bagley the younger for life, thence to his issue as tenants in common.
Demise (23 Dec. 1813) by same to same upon the same trusts of, for a term of 21 years determining on the death of Bagley the elder, of his life estate in premises (inc. minerals) settled by #3 above.

DSCAM/5/2/1/10: Probate (28 Aug. 1815) of the will (dated 9 Apr. 1814) of Dudley Bagley the elder of Ettingshall Park, parish of Sedgley, Staffs., gentlemen; executors and trustees, John Badley of Blowers Green, parish of Dudley, Worcestershire, gentleman, John Fereday of Cotwall End, parish of Sedgley, gentleman, and James Bourne of Dudley, gentleman; all estate to them upon trust to pay income to his daughter Ann, wife of Samuel Fereday, for life, thence to pay it to Samuel for life; thence capital to be divide between the issue of Samuel and Ann and the testator's great grand daughter, Ann Robinson, only child of Ann, deceased wife of the Revd Proctor Robinson, equally as tenants in common.

Disputes arising from the debts of Dudley Bagley and operations of the mines and furnaces at the Grave Yard, liabilities of Francis Hill, his involvement in the management of the mines, guarantees freely entered into etc., management of the trust estate of Dudley Bagley; recites bill of complaint (in Chancery, 1826) of Francis Rufford the elder and Thomas Biggs of Stourbridge, bankers, against Francis Hill, Dudley Bagley the younger and Dudley Bagley the elder relative to the trust deeds of Dec. 1813 (#7-8 above).
