| Description | The settlements all ultimately relate to that created by the will of Samuel Mills (ancestor of the Slaters of Slater and Camm and of Slater and Co., solicitors, Darlaston) through his daughter Mary, Mrs Samuel Charles Whitefoord, mother of the Revd Charles Blaquhan Whitefoord, Captain Caleb Alan Bryce Whitefoord and Miss Mary Whitefoord. Captain Alan Whitefoord (d 1941) married twice and left an only child (by his first wife, who was also his second cousin). The bulk of the material concerns his affairs, those of his daughter, (Marjorie) Vernon Whitefoord (d 1944), and of his second wife, Leslie Whitefoord. The winding up of his estate had not been completed by the time of his daughter's death. |
