Description | DSCAM/5/12/9/1: Copy probate (dated 7 Jan. 1902) of the will (dated 25 Feb. 1897) and codicil (22 Apr. 1901) of James Slater of Bescot Hall, near Walsall, Staffordshire, solicitor; executors are Elizabeth Slater (wife), Samuel Mills Slater and Edward Tilley Slater (sons) and William Simkin of Butcroft, Darlaston, managing clerk;. Gross value of £61311. 220 Butcroft, Darlaston, the premises where he practises as a solicitor in partnership with his sons to those sons, subject to an annuity of £60 to Frances Anne Stoney; £250 to Simkin, £100 to William Corbett Whitehouse, his cashier; a few specific bequests; household effects to wife for life, thence divided between children; bequests to unmarried children to balance what he has given to mariied children to set up home; all real and personal estate on trust for sale, paying income to wife for life, thence to issue in manner specified etc. Codicil: Leonard Slater has died leaving infant son; testator desires to postpone vesting of shares and interest under will etc. |
