Description | DSCAM/5/1/8/1: Lease and release (11-12 Oct. 1799) by Thomas Green of Harborne House, parish of Harborne, Staffs., Esq. and Hannah his wife to George Simcox of Birmingham, Warwickshire, Esq. (their son-in-law) and Thomas Jones of the Crescent, Birmingham, gentleman, by way of settlement, reciting that Thomas Green Simcox, only child of George, is the only grandchild and heir apparent of Thomas; conveys Harrison's Green Farm (161a. 1r. 3p. as specified), at Harborne, in the tenure of Mary Birch at a yearly rental of £200, to Jones in trust for Simcox in fee simple, for which the consideration is an annuity of £200 secured by bond from Simcox to Thomas Green; and settlement of Harborne House, pleasure grounds and appurtenances (33a. 1r. 5p.); assignment of the Turks Head in Livery Street, Birmingham, and other leasehold premises there and in Snowhill, for the residue of several terms of years, in trust for Thomas Green for life, thence for Hannah for life, thence to Simcox for life, with remainder to Thomas Green and his heirs and assigns; annuity of £100 to Simcox from the death of the last Green, charged on the Harborne premises. |

DSCAM/5/1/8/6: Mutual release and deed of covenant (21 June 1853) by Joseph Hill of Tipton, Staffs., iron merchant and Caroline his wife, Thomas Round of the same, victualler and Jane his wife, Jonathan Edwards Howl of Gospel Oak, Staffs., coalmaster and Sarah his wife, Thomas Cox the younger of Great Bridge, parish of Tipton, builder and Matilda his wife and Edward Aston of Smethwick, Staffs., land surveyor (the ladies and Edward being parties entitled under the recited will of Edward Aston late of Tipton, then of Smethwick, maltster and coalmaster, deceased) setting aside a clause of survivorship relative to the share(s) of any of them dying without issue, to enable them each to become unfettered tenants in common of the real and personal estate previously subjevt to that clause; recites purchase of Samuel Round's moiety of property at Harborne; attached certificate of acknowledgment by a married woman. |
