Description | DSCAM/4/1/30/1: Draft agreement (7 Mar. 1861) between Charles Roberts of the Field House, Clent, Worcs., Esq., Henry Williams of the Grove House, Westbromwich, Staffs. and James Hammond of Wednesbury, Staffs., coalmasters, and Edward Williams of the Grove House aforesaid, coalmaster (surety); lease of even date from Roberts to Williams and Hammond of The Tipton Green Colliery for a term of 21 years, they acquiring winding engines, colliery plant etc.; agreement for valuation of such plant by mining engineers for each party plus umpire as specified; £1000 to be paid by Williams and Hammond to Roberts on account, balance to be secured by bills of exchange payable at 24 and 48 months with interest at 7.5%. |
DSCAM/4/1/30/2: Copy draft agreement (14 Mar. 1862) between H. Williams, Hammond, E. Williams and Samuel Willetts of Lyttelton Hall, West Bromwich, coalmaster; H. Williams to retire from Williams and Hammond and assign all his interest to Hammond and Willetts, also to retire from the Mesty Croft Colliery, Wednesbury also carried on in partnership with Hammond under the style of Williams and Hammond; Willetts to take the place of Williams; mutual covenants; Willetts and Hammond to pay Williams £2500 (£1500 on the execution of the deed, £500 at Midsummer and £500 at Michaelmas, with interest at 5% p.a.). |
