| Description | Deed of copartnership between Thomas Hawkes of Dudley, flint glass manufacturer and William Greathead of the same, flint glass manufacturer, for a term of 7 years from 1 Jan. 1836, under the style of Hawkes and Co.; business to be conducted with Hawkes's stock and money, he to receive £600 p.a. and interest at 5% on capital to be brought in by him; £600 to include rent of glassworks; net profits to be divided five-sixths to Hawkes and one-sixth to Greathead, but Greathead to receive a salary of £100 p.a. and £30 for housing, and 5% on any capital he brings in; management in hands of Greathead; Hawkes may determine partnership after 3 or 5 years on 3 months' notice. |
