£300 to be invested to augment the salary of the Governess of the Dudley Charity School; household effects to sister, Mary Ann Roberts; £50 to Caroline Carless, £50 to James Beddington, £20 to Ann Bratt and £20 to Joseph Greave (servants); £1500 to nephew, the Revd William Henry Cartwright; £750 to cousin, Naomi Ruhamah Mary Cartwright Bankes; £500 to nephew, George Brettell and same to trustees of the will of nephew, John Orme Brettell, to form part of latter's residuary estate; £500 in trust to be invested and income paid to nephew, Cornelius Cartwright Brettell as specified, then to pay up to £50 for his funeral and pay the balance and any compound accumulations to the children of C.C. Brettell at the age of 21 etc. as specified, with power of advancement, and in default of such issue, in equal shares to the 4 foregoing legatees and their representatives; £500 in trust with income to be paid to great niece, Mary Ann Towner, daughter of deceased nephew Thomas William Perry Brettell, for life, with power to appoint capital by will, and otherwise to her issue, with remainder, for want of issue, to the 4 foregoing legatees; residue of personal estate to sister, Mary Ann Roberts; all real estate to her for life, thence to William Henry Cartwright.
Executors: William Henry Cartwright and Mary Ann Roberts.

Codicil (dated 11 Mar. 1864); funeral to be as brother (Revd Henry Antrobus Cartwright)'s; cousin Bankes to have use of his house in High Street for 3 months from death 'for her ... care during my affliction'.

Codicil (dated 4 July 1864) revoking use of High St house.

Codicil (dated 22 May 1866); in view of the serious indisposition of William Henry Cartwright, provides that if he predeceases testator, real estate etc. to be sold and proceeds, with the £1500 legacy, to be divided between W.H. Cartwright's children.
