DSCAM/3/53/2: Probate (9 Feb. 1831) of the will (dated 26 Aug. 1829) of William Brinton of Smethwick, parish of Harborne, Staffs., yeoman; to be buried in St Martin's churchyard, Birmingham; tomb to be raised and railed out with iron Palisadoes; various gold and silver items to his cousin James Bourne the elder of Dudley, solicitor, and to Joseph Green Bourne, James Bourne the younger, Herbert Dudley Bourne, Mary Green Bourne and Elizabeth Bourne (children of James the elder); all household goods to Mary Beach of Suffolk Street, Birmingham, spinster; £50 each to executors; £100 each to cousin Herbert Bourne of London (brother of James the elder), £100 to cousin Thomas Brinton of Bow Street, Birmingham, wire worker; £50 each to William Nicklin Bourne, Joseph Bourne, Elizabeth Bourne and Ann Bourne, and £20 to Sarah, wife of Thomas Monk, children of his late cousin Joseph Bourne of Tipton Lodge; £50 to the General Hospital near Birmingham; £10 to Samuel Thomas of Smethwick, gardener; £500 upon trust to pay income to Mary Beach for life, thence capital to James Bourne the elder; all real estate to James Bourne;executors, Joseph Green Bourne and William Burt of Birmingham.

(administrator of John Reynold his late father) to William Brinton of Smethwick, yeoman, of 2 messuages, shops and warehouses erected on land held under the 1759 leases, in Edmund Street, parish of St Martin, Birmingham, together with a ground rent of £6 os 1d p.a.to secure £1300 and interest; recites building leases of 1-9 May 1759 from Charles Colmore for 108 years from 25 Mar. 1759 at rents of £3 and £4 10/- p.a., and subsequent assignments.
