DescriptionDSCAM/3/432/1: Probate (16 Dec. 1837) of the will (dated 16 June 1837) of Samuel Timmins of Dudley, Worcs., cordwainer; all to wife, Sarah Timmins, during widowhood; provision for trust during minorities; then 2 messuages in Birmingham Street, Dudley, to eldest son, Samuel Timmins the younger, plus £100 of the sale proceeds of land at Portway, Rowley Regis; 2 other messuages in Birmingham Street and a further £100, to son Elijah; messuage in Hall Street, Dudley, to 2 eldest daughters, Mary Timmins and Esther Timmins, as tenants in common, discharged from £40 charged thereupon by the will of Samuel Whitehouse [DSCAM/3/466] which will come out of the residuary estate; messuage at Kates Hill and messuage at Waddams's Pool, to youngest daughter, Ann Timmins; 3 messuages etc. at Portway upon trust for sale after wife's remarriage and majority of youngest child; residue of sale proceeds, after payment of 2 x £100 above, and residue of estate, to 5 children equally; executors, William Royle of Dudley, maltster and Joseph Whitehouse of Barehill, parish of Rowley Regis, Staffs., farmer.
DSCAM/3/432/2: Probate (27 Sept. 1852) of the will (dated 7 Jan. 1852) of Samuel Timmins of Dudley, nailfactor; household effects to wife, Ann Timmins during widowhood, thence to their 5 children equally; personal estate and stock-in-trade to wife to continue business and bring up children; £100 to be received from the Portway sale (after mother's death) to be applied as to £60 in repaying mortgage on his messuage and nail warehouse etc. in Birmingham Street, Dudley, and balance to wife, if still alive and his widow, and otherwise to children equally; all real estate to wife during widowhood, thence to children equally as tenants in common; executors, William Whyley of Dudley, butcher, Matthew Boucher of Cradley, cooper (brother-in-law) and wife.
