Description | DSCAM/3/407/1: Copy of the will (dated 16 Aug. 1766) of Samuel Spencer of Kingswinford, Staffs., yeoman; real estate in trust to pay rents to wife, Sarah Spencer, during widowhood, but on remarriage to pay only her entitlement to dower at common law and the overplus to daughters Mary and Elioner and son Joseph equally, towards their maintenance and education as appropriate, and otherwise toall his children; then upon trust to raise £300 after death of wife, for division between children, Samuel, Ruth, Sarah, Mary, Joseph and Elioner equally at the age of 21 etc. (or remoter issue, taking per stirpes), and paying the balance to eldest son, John Spencer and issue, with remainders over; personal estate to wife; executors, John Spencer and Samuel Spencer (sons) and wife. |
