DescriptionDSCAM/3/365/1: Probate (18 Mar. 1840) of the will (dated 17 Apr. 1839) of Mary Royle of Dixons Green near Dudley, Worcs., widow; £300 to grandson, Roger Cherrington at the age of 21; clothes, household effects etc., to grand daughter Mary Cherrington, with the £100 secured in the tolls of the Dudley and Rowley Regis turnpike road; all real estate to her grand daughters, Mary, Elizabeth, Frances and Harriet Cherrington as tenants in common; residue of personal estate to be divided into four between grand daughters (the share of Elizabeth to be in trust, she receiving the income for life, thence the capital to be divided equally between her issue, with remainder, in default of issue, to testatrix's other grand daughters); executors, Timothy Tilley of Dudley, currier and Roger Cherrington of Shiffnal (son-in-law).

Codicil (29 June 1839); appoints Thomas Jones of Rowley Regis, nail ironmonger to be executor in place of Roger Cherrington.
DSCAM/3/365/2: Assignment (24 Apr. 1840) by the executors (Tilley and Jones), with the consent of William Edward Davies, late of Portway House, parish of Rowley Regis, now of Wightwick, Staffs., gentleman, to Benjamin Oliver May of Dudley, druggist and soda water manufacturer, of a messuage and a cottage at Dixons Green, for the residue of a term of 7 years created by the within recited lease of 22 Mar. 1838 (from Davies to Mary Royle).
