DescriptionDSCAM/3/362/1: Probate (23 May 1836) of the will (dated 24 Dec. 1835) of Benjamin Round of Scot's Green, parish of Dudley, Worcs., cokeman.
All to wife, Phoebe Round, for life, thence personal to children (or remoter issue taking per stirpes) equally; and 2 messuages at Scot's Green (occupied by testator and mother) and a parcel of land there, and a messuage and shop at the Dock in Dudley, to son Benjamin, with power of appointment; to son Joseph Round of Scot's Green, cokeman, 2 messuages, nailshop etc. at Scot's Green (occupied by Joseph and by testator's brother Jacob), and a messuage at the Dock and another in Flood Street, Dudley, with power of appointment; 2 messuages at Scot's Green etc., 1 at the Dock and 1 in Flood Street, to the use of daughter Mary, wife of Jabez Dainty [Jones] of Shutt End, Kingswinford, Staffs., with power of appointment; and 1 messuage in her own occupation, messuage and nailshop at Woodside, parish of Dudley, 1 at the Dock and 1 in Flood Street, to the use of daughter Sarah, wife of William Smith of Scot's Green, with power of appointment; £10 each from the others to Benjamin the son to equalise their shares; shares of any dying childless during lifetime of Phoebe to be divided equally amongst survivors.
Executors: Benjamin Round (son) and Benjamin Cooksey of Scot's Green, machine keeper.
Codicil (14 Jan. 1836) appointing sons-in-law, Jabez Dainty Jones and William Smith, as executors in place of Cooksey.
