DescriptionDSCAM/3/287/1: Probate (26 Dec. 1850) of the will (dated 4 Sept. 1850) of Benjamin Morris of Dudley, Worcs., lately a maltster, now out of business; directs payment of any outstanding notes of hand - £50 to Coldicott, £150 to Henry Waldron Ladbury and £100 to Ann Garbett, widow; exercise power of appointment under the within recited trust deed of 20 Apr. 1849 whereby he enjoys the income from The Duke of York at Eve Hill, shares in the Birmingham Banking Company, the Dudley Water Works Company and the Birmingham Plate and Crown Glass Company and other securities:
£100 for Samuel Lloyd, a child of late sister, Hannah Lloyd; £100 for Mary Meredith, another child of Hannah Lloyd; £240 for William, Mary, Samuel, Hannah, Harriet and Ann, 6 of the children of William Lloyd deceased, himself a child of Hannah, as tenants in common; £200 for Jane Ellis, widow, a child of late brother, Richard Morris; £10 for Sarah, widow of John Morris and another child of Richard; £60 for Benjamin, son of John Morris deceased; £600 in trust for Elizabeth Parker, widow, a daughter of late brother Thomas, for life, thence £100 capital to testator's nephew Benjamin Morris, son of brother Samuel, and Fanny Parker, daughter of Elizabeth, in trust for Benjamin Morris Bath, Thomas Morris Bath and Henry Stevens Morris Bath, the 3 children of Elizabeth Bath, who is one of the children of Elizabeth Parker; and other £500 in trust for James, Priscilla, Jane, Fanny and Rebecca, 5 other children of Elizabeth Parker, equally as tenants in common; £200 for Fanny Parker; £200 in trust for Sarah Saycell, another daughter of Thomas Morris, for life, thence to Fanny Parker; £200 for Benjamin and Ann, the children of Thomas Morris, who was a son of Thomas Morris deceased, as tenants in common; £250 in trust for Jane Llewellyn, another daughter of Thomas Morris, for life, thence to her surviving issue; £150 for Susan Edwards, daughter of sister Susan or Susanna Garbett deceased; £150 for Hannah Price, another daughter of Susan; £50 for Jane Cox, another daughter of Susan; £50 for Ann Davis, another daughter of Susan; £50 for Mary Evans, another daughter of Susan; £60 for Mary, a daughter of sister, Sarah Crannage deceased; £30 for Martha, another daughter of Sarah; £300 for nephew Benjamin Morris, son of late brother Samuel Morris deceased; £300 for Edwin Thomas Morris, another son of Samuel; residue of trust monies to Benjamin Morris (one fifth), Edwin Thomas Morris (one fifth), Naomi Pattison alias Naomi Newbold, daughter of Samuel Morris (one fifth), Jane Green alias Jane Rogers, another daughter of Samuel (one fifth), and Samuel and Julia, children of Samuel Morris, another son of Samuel Morris, as tenants in common (one fifth).
All personal estate upon trust for sale; four fifths of proceeds to the children of Samuel Morris as tenants in common, and one fifth to the aforementioned Samuel and Julia as tenants in common.
