DescriptionDSCAM/3/205/1: Attested copy of the will (dated 19 May 1868) of Philip Hickin of Lower Gornal, parish of Sedgley, Staffs., surgeon.
Hickmans Meadow at Lower Gornal, with kilns, hovel etc. and all minerals, to daughter Mary for life, thence to her children as tenants in common, with remainder, in default of surviving issue, to his other children, Philip, James and Teresa, and their heirs, as tenants in common; land called 'The Roundabout' at Lower Gornal, with engines, engine house and all minerals, a land at Lower Gornal purchased of Timmins's mortgagee, to son Philip for life, thence to his issue as tenants in common, with remainder over to testator's other 3 children and their heirs; top of Pew Croft, Lower Gornal and orchard etc. there, with all minerals, to son James for life, thence to his issue as tenants in common, with remainder over to testator's other 3 children as above; lower part of Pew Croft (below the floating gutter) making up two and a half acres of land and all minerals, in trust to pay rents to daughter Teresa for life, with usual remainders; all other estate to 4 children share and share alike.
