DescriptionDSCAM/3/200/1: Probate (31 Dec. 1840) of the will (dated 28 Oct. 1840) of William Haynes of Stourbridge, parish of Oldswinford, Worcs.
Four messuages at Lower Swinford to daughter, Ann, wife of George Hartshorne, for life, thence for sale with the proceeds divided between her issue; rents from 6 dwellinghouses at Stamber Mill, parish of Oldswinford to son, William Haynes, and possession after death of testator's wife, Ann, but should William die before gaining possession, the property passes to testator's wife absolutely, charged with 8/- a week to William's widow; interest on £600 due from the trustees of Mount Pleasant Methodist Chapel to wife, and rents from 5 messuages at the lower part of Stamber Mill, interest on 4 x £25 shares in the Methodist New Connexion Chapel at New Road, Stourbridge and on £100 floating monies due to him as Treasurer, and on £200 in the hands of son, Herbert, and rents of 4 houses in New Road, all for life; then New Road house to be offered to Herbert for £600, subject to £200 due to testator's daughter, Joanna Haynes, and if he declines, the property to be offered to the rest of the family on the same terms, otherwise sold; 4 x £25 shares and £500 to son, John; 5 messuages at the lower part of Stamber Mill and £300 to daughter, Joanna; £150 to son William; £100 each to sons Herbert and Thomas, etc.
Executors: Herbert Haynes (son) and John Blurton senior, watchmaker.
Affidavit by Thomas Careless of Stourbridge, shoemaker, of the due execution of the will, 4 Jan. 1841.
