DescriptionDSCAM/3/109/1: Settlement by William Nicklin of Smethwick, Staffs., gentleman on Thomas Lewis Nicklin of Smethwick, ironmaster (who married Ellen [d 1872], daughter of James Crofts of Bloomfield, parish of Tipton, Staffs., furnace builder) of his absolute and contingent shares in real and personal estate passing under the within recited will of James Crofts, except for £82 11s 7d retained by William; to invest and pay income to William for life, and to his widow after his death (if he should so appoint), thence in trust for William's issue in such manner and proportions as William may appoint, but otherwise equally, and in default of issue in whom the funds may vest, to Thomas Lewis Nicklin absolutely.
Memorandum that £2800 was paid over on execution of the deed.
