DescriptionLease and release by Joseph Hodgetts and Booth Hodgetts, both of Dudley, Worcs., nail ironmongers, to John Read of the Valley, parish of Bromsgrove, Worcs., ironmaster, of 4 closes of land, now broken coal pit land, in the parish of Westbromwich, adjoining the old brook running from Price Thomas's forge to that of Messrs Hodgetts and the old brook called the Tame River, and a small parcel of land awarded under the West Bromwich Inclosure Act, all formerly part of Hills Farm (12a. 2r. 27p.), and a forge, buildings and machinery known as Wednesbury New Forge, with access roads as specified, and reserving minerals except those under the buildings and for 80yds thereabouts; to the use of John Twamley of Dudley, grocer and George Dalton of Dudley, banker, for a term of 1000 years, upon the trusts specified for securing the payment of the consideration money by instalments of £400 in the first 2 years, £1400 by June 1812, and then £250 a quarter due Dec. 1812 and onwards, and otherwise to the use of Read; assignment by Joseph Wainwright of Dudley, surgeon, to Thomas Lee of Birmingham, Warwickshire, gentleman, of the residue of a term of 1000 years in the premises, cretade in 1798 as recited, upon trust, in trust for Read and otherwise in trust to attend the freehold; bargain and sale of all the plant, tools and machinery etc.; covenant for the production of title deeds as specified; consideration of £8950; plan, with schedule of field names and acreages, on 1st membrane.
