DSCAM/2/4/5/2: Security (21 Oct. 1871) from The Union Coal and Iron Company Limited to Henry George Harper of Gracechurch Street, London, merchant and Thomas Bantock of Wolverhampton, Staffs., ironmaster, over all real estate, copyholds, leases and colliery plant, for the performance of the remaining covenants contained in the within recited agreement between Harper and Bantock and the company/its promoters (Caleb Bloomer and Thomas Strange Hatton) of 11 Sept. 1867 for the sale of the Spring Vale Colliery at Ettingshall, for payments due and payments to be made to the Staffordshire Joint Stock Bank etc.; describes mineral leases and agreements (with John Latty Bickley inter alia), mortgages, arrangements with bankers, liabilities etc. of the various parties. And attached transfer and assignment (10 Oct. 1872) by Harper to Bantock of all his interest in the foregoing security, pursuant to an agreement of 10 Sept. 1872 |
DSCAM/2/4/5/3-4: Conveyance (10 Oct. 1872) by Harper to Bantock of his interest in Ettingshall Lodge and 2a. 2r. 7p. of land there, in the parish of Sedgley, with underlying minerals, and covenants to surrender his interest in a copyhold cottage and land at Ettingshall, parish of Bilston, held of the Manor of Stowheath, all subject to mortgages; with endorsed covenant for production in connexion with the sale of a house adjoining White Lion Millfields to Thomas Hampton, 13 Dec. 1881. DSCAM/2/4/5/5: Conveyance (26 Sept. 1873) by Benjamin Smith of Wolverhampton, Staffs., accountant (liquidator of The Union Coal and Iron Company Ltd) , to Bantock, of the real estate, leasehodl minersl, plant and equipment of the company; Bantock to pay off the prior charges; recites that £9500 and upwards is due to the Wolverhampton and Staffordshire Banking Company as 1st mortgagees, £11000 and upwards to the Staffordshire Joint Stock Bank Limited as 2nd mortgagees, and £28000 and upwards to Bantock, leaving a deficiency. |
