DSCAM/2/4/2/2: Admittance of Henry Wainwright of Wolverhampton, Staffs., butcher (eldest son and heir of John Wainwright of the parish of Sedgley, yeoman, deceased, by Jane his wife) to 2 x 1 acre of land in Feredays Croft and land called Slagatree; surrender by Wainwright and Elizabeth his wife, of the above lands, to the use of Richard Groome, gentleman [as tenant to the praecipe]; admittance of Thomas Burne the younger as Demandant under a Common Recovery; surrender by Burne, Groome and Wainwright and wife to Edward Cox of Sedgley, chapman, for life, thence to the uses of his will, and admittance of Cox as aforesaid. All 16 Apr. 1782. Manor of Sedgley.
DSCAM/2/4/2/3-5: Admittance of Richard Law of Sedgley, miller (as eldest son and heir of Richard Law of Brwons Wall, Manor of Sedgley, locksmith, deceased) to numerous parcels of land in Sandwell Field (described), in an inclosure taken from Sandwell Field and in Watwell Field; conditional surrender of the same by Law and Elizabeth his wife to Cox, by way of mortgage, to secure £220 and interest; and bond from Law to Cox to secure £820, as collateral security for a mortgage of lands at Sedgley comrised in two surrenders of the same date. All 27 Sept. 1783.
DSCAM/2/4/2/6: Surrender by Law and wife to Cox of their rights of redemption in the premises, to the use of Cox for life and thence to the uses of his will; 16 Nov. 1784.
DSCAM/2/4/2/7-8: Conditional surrender by Edward Cox of Sedgley, chapman and Mary his wife, to William Les of Hagley, Worcs., gentleman, by way of mortgage, to secure £1000 and interest; and further conditional surrender by same to same of other parcels of land in Sandwell Field and adjacent inclosures, and a cottage, lands and the site of another cottage near Gospel End, and land in Feredays Close, and in the Over Hodging and Lower Hodging, a messuage called Browns Wall and lands thereabouts [being lands etc. surrendered by Law to Cox on 16 Nov. 1784 by another surrender now wanting]. Both 21 Sept. 1801.
DSCAM/2/4/2/9-10: Conditional surrenders of both sets of premises by William Lea and Edward Cox to John Smith of Sutton, parish of Claverley, Salop, gentleman, being a transfer of the mortgage of £1000 to Smith. Both 3 Feb. 1803.
DSCAM/2/4/2/11: Surrender by Smith to Cox, to the use of Cox for lufe, thence to the uses of his will; 7 June 1808.
