DSCAM/2/2/1/2: Declaration of trust (1 Dec. 1774) between the vendor (James Troubee late of Stourbridge, now of Brettell, gentleman), mortgagees (William Chance of Bromsgrove, Worcs., ironmerchant, executor of his late brother Thomas) and vendees (John Pidcock et al., William Seager of Brettell, potter of clay and Thomas Brettell the elder) of James Troubee's estate; that Thomas Brettell will stand possessed of the various terms of years, as to 6 closes of land specified (16a. 2r. 29p.) and a messuage now divided into 3 cottages and 3 closes of land called Jackfields, in trust for Jeremiah Brettell; various messuages, cottages and lands, a decayed glasshouse and 5 pothouses, and Blackmore Meadow or Coppice (22 acres), in trust to secure £1600 to Chance, and subject thereto, in trust for Seager; consideration of £2150 by Pidcock et al. (with £2850 already paid), inc. the £1950 above) and £800 by Seager, who has agreed to pay off the £1600 due to Chance who will accept a security for the same.

DSCAM/2/2/1/5: Lease and release (7-8 May 1799) by Benjamin Brettell of Brettell, parish of Kingswinford, Staffs., gentleman and Thomas Brettell of Tiled House in the said parish, gentleman [sons of Benjamin Brettell the elder], to Robert Honeyborne, of messuages and lands as specified at Brettell Lane, Badgers Bank, Brockmore Green, Wormwood Bank etc., parish of Kingswinford, to effect a partition between Benjamin and Thomas as specified.
DSCAM/2/2/1/6: Pre-nuptial settlement (23 Aug. 1799) of Thomas Brettell and Penelope Antrobus Cartwright, spinster (daughter of the Revd Joseph Cartwright of Dudley, Worcs., Clerk), being a release [lease wanting] by Thomas Brettell of the Tiled House (younger son of Benjamin Brettell the elder of Brettell Lane, deceased, and devisee in tail of Jeremiah Brettell of the parish of Kingswinford, deceased) and Robert Honeyborne (his trustee) to Benjamin Brettell of the parish of Kingswinford, gentleman (brother of Thomas) and the Revd Henry Antrobus Cartwright of Mereden, Warwickshire, Clerk; of a messuage and 5 closes of land (20a. 2r. 4p.) adjoining the Stourbridge Canal and Green Lane, 6 closes of land (24a. 1r.) on the north of the Brettell Lane turnpike, and 3 closes (14a. 2r. 35p.) on the west of the Stourbridge Canal; to the use of Thomas for life, then to Penelope for life, thence to their issue in such manner as they shall jointly appoint, or the survivor shall appoint, and in default, to such issue equally as tenants in common, and, in default of issue, in remainder to Thomas and his heirs and assigns; power to raise £1000 on mortgage at the request of Thomas; consideration of £1000, the marriage portion.
DSCAM/2/2/1/7: Mortgage by demise of 1000 years (25 Sept. 1804) by Thomas Brettell of the Tiled House to Thomas Peach Aston of Seisdon, parish of Trysull, Staffs., gentleman, of closes of land called the Barley Leasow and the Broad Fields, and 2 messuages built on part of the latter, all at Brettell Lane, parish of Kingswinford, Staffs., to secure £300 and interest.
DSCAM/2/2/1/8: Articles of agreement (28 Mar. 1825) between Thomas Brettell of Tiled House, parish of Kingswinford, Staffs., coalmaster (as to one moiety), and Benjamin Brettell, late of the parish of Ombersley, Worcs., now of Stourbridge, gentleman and Edward Causer of Stourbridge, surgeon and Anna Maria his wife (as cestui que trusts under the will of Benjamin Brettell, as to the other moiety), and William Seager Wheeley and John Wheeley, both of Brettell Lane, parish of Kingswinford, glass manufacturers, for a lease of Thick of Ten Yard Coal, Heathen Coal and Brooch Coal, and all mines of ironstone, under specified messuages and lands at Brettell Lane as specified (40 acres), for a term of 21 years from 25 Mar., at royalties of 2/- a ton for Thick Coal and 8d a ton for slack, 1/- a ton for Heathen Coal and 3d a ton for slack, 9d a ton for Brooch Coal and 2/- a ton for ironstone (each ton of 2400lb), with a minimum rent of £212 10/- a quarter and provisions for susbsequent overworking to make up deficiencies of quantities to rental; bond of indemnity by Benjamin Brettell and Edward Causer in respect of doubts over the power of the devisees under the will of Benjamin Brettell deceased to grant a lease; consideration of £1000 to be reclaimed by the Wheeleys from the first royalty payments they would be due to make.
