DSCAM/2/12/4/4: Lease and release (29-30 July 1771) by Joseph Clayton of Cockspur Street, Leicester Fields in the liberties of Westminster, Middlesex, perfumer and Abigail his wife, to John Ashby of Shrewsbury, Salop, gentleman and Thomas Morgan of the same, gentleman, of a messuage and lands at Varchwell, parish of Guilsfield, Montgomeryshire, being a deed to make Ashby Tenant to the Praecipe for suffering a Common Recovery in which Morgan shall be Demandant, to the use of Clayton for life, thence to such uses as Abigail shall appoint, and otherwise to the use of Abigail, her heirs and assigns.

Made between Elizabeth Parry alis Evans of Cinwsbach, parish of Llanwrin, Montgomeryshire, widow, Gwen Williams alias Evans of Tythin Garthgwynio Issa, parish of Machynlleth, widow (of Thomas Isaac of the same, gentleman), Isaac Evans of Tythin Garth Gwynio Issa, gentleman (only son and heir of Thomas Isaac and grandson and heir of Elizabeth Parry, by Isaac Evans Dyer, her late husband), a minor, Hugh Evans of Eskirgeiliog, parish of Llanwrin, gentleman (uncle of Isaac Evans), Richard Edward of Machynlleth, tanner and Catharine (his only child by his late wife Margaret) an infant, and David Evans of Machynlleth, grocer and John Owen of Bwlch, parish of Machynlleth, gentleman; covenant for a settlement by the Evans family of Tythingarthgwynio Issa, Ty Bachynfedw, Ty Bachymhenysar, all in the township of Isygarreg and parish of Machynlleth, under which Elizabeth Parry shall take an annuity of £9, Gwen Williams an anuity of £5, a life interest shall be held by Isaac, then Catharine to take a jointure of £5 p.a., power to raise mortgages of up to £100 for the portions of younger children, and subject to these charges, estate in remainder to the sons of the marriage, successively, in tail, with remainder to the daughters, successively, in tail, and ultimate remainder to Isaac and his heirs; and settlement by the Edward family of a moiety of Tythin y Tylyrne y Tylyrne Issa, Gassegwoodfan and Llyestyddygwraigedd, in the township of Uchygarreg and parish of Machynlleth, to the use of Richard Edward for life, thence to Catharine for life, thence to the issue of the marriage in the same fashion as for the Evans property, with ultimate remainder to Catharien and her heirs; consideration of £100, Catharine's portion
DSCAM/2/12/4/6: Copy pre-nuptial settlement (dated 30 Apr. 1840) of William Rogers [the younger] of Guilsfield, Montgomeryshire, gentleman, and Maria Pugh of Guilsfield, widow; the Revd Charles Thomas Coryndon Luxmoore of Guilsfield, Clerk, as trustee; being an appointment and release of the messuage called Penbref and appurtenances, and the meadow called Rhydymoch alais Cross Lane, a messuage called Celui or Kelui etc., all in the parish of Guilsfield; upon trust to secure a rentcharge of £20 p.a. to Maria out of Celui for life, and otherwise upon trust for William for life, then to Maria, and thence to their children equally as tenants in common, with ultimate remainder to William and his heirs and assigns; other real estate upon trust for sale, with balance of proceeds to William and his heirs as personal estate; settlement of chattels (furniture etc.) as specified.

And reconveyance on repayment, 14 Dec. 1874.
