DSCAM/2/1/24/6-7: Lease (14 Dec. 1875) by Sir Horace St Paul of Ewart Park, Northumberland, Bart and his mortgagees (Henry John, Earl of Ducie and Trehawke Kekewich of Edgbaston, near Birmingham, Esq.), to the Dudley Colliery Co. Ltd and Thomas Crew, Richard Mason and Thomas Yeomans, all of Dudley (its sureties), of Windmill End Colliery, in the parishes of Dudley and Rowley Regis, and plant and machinery (part let to Messrs Noah and Benjamin Hingley), for a term of 40 years from 29 Sept. 1875; rent of 33 per acre for surface, £400 p.a. for minerals, £40 p.a. for brick clay, all payable to mortgagees; various surface reservations; working covenants; not to pierce the great fault without consent; not to work mines near blast furnaces etc.; damage and compensation; free coals specified for Sir Horace; proviso to relet property to the sureties in certain circumstances; schedule of plant; plan attached.
And duplicate agreement (same Date) between Messrs Crew, Mason and Yeomans and the Company, transferring all their interest in the colliery, and in the plant and machinery specified; consideration of £6000, half down and the balance as specified. |
