DSCAM/2/1/21/2: Conveyance (30 Dec. 1859) by Joseph Smith of Pensnett, parish of Kingswinford, Staffs., fruiterer, to Daniel Smith of Handsworth, fruiterer, of one seventh of one fifth of a freehold messuage and nailshop etc. at Brockmoor, parish of Kingswinford, one seventh of the Shop Meadow (2580sq. yds), parish of Rowley Regis, Staffs., one seventh of one fifth of a quarter of the minerals under the last mentioned land, and one seventh of 1r. 21p. of Squire's Meadow, parishes of Dudley and Rowley Regis, and 8 messuages erected thereupon (4 of them by Joseph Sidaway) [see DSCAM/2/1/16/9]; covenant to surrender a seventh of a fifth of 3 acres of copyhold land at Shut End, Manor of Kingswinford; to settle disputes concerning the division of the property of Joseph Smith the father. Endorsed memorandum of the conveyance of 1r. 21p. of land and 8 house to John and George Henry Dunn, 1 May 1883. |
DSCAM/2/1/21/3-4: Mortgage (31 Dec. 1859) by Joseph Smith to James Samuel Bourne of Dudley, Worcs., gentleman, of six sevenths of one fifth of the Brockmmor premises, six sevenths of Shop Meadow, and six sevenths of Squires Meadow etc.; covenant to surrender six sevenths of one fifth of the copyhold land as in #2, to secure £72. Endorsed further charge (21 July 1860) for £40. Further mortgage (25 Aug. 1860) for £30; and endorsed further charge (7 Apr. 1863) for £35 16s 10d. |

DSCAM/2/1/21/7: Further charge (6 Aug. 1872) by Joseph Smith of Dudley, fishmonger (son of Joseph Smith), to James Samuel Bourne, to secure £134 15s 10d, the balance on existing mortgages and £165 4s 2d afresh, making £300; with further security of a plot of 377sq. yds of land out of Well Close, Caddicks End, Dudley, adjoining the street from Dudley to Wolverhampton, with a messuage numbered 5 thereupon, and 9 messuages, Nos. 15-22, converted by Thomas Marren out of a range of warehouses behind the first mentioned messuage [see below]. |
DSCAM/2/1/21/8: Further charge (1 Nov. 1877) by Joseph Smith, fishmonger, to James Samuel Bourne, on premises as in #7, for £365 4s 2d; further secured on the mortgaged premises and monies due from Daniel Smith; recites previous deeds, that £60 is due on a mortgage of 3 Oct. 1856 of the Squires Meadow property, and £134 15s 10d on the others.
