DSCAM/2/1/11/4-5: Mortgage by demise of 1000 years (22 Nov. 1731) by John Grove of Rowley Regis, gentleman (son and heir of John Grove of the same, deceased), to William Brown of Himbley, Staffs., gentleman, of the messuage formerly Edward Dixon's, now divided into two, 2 further messuages and 2 cottages, all standing together in High Street, Dudley, adjoining land of Samuel Clement, to secure £155 and interest.. And bond from same to same as collateral security.
DSCAM/2/1/11/6: Assignment of the mortgage (7 June 1737) by Brown, by the direction and with the confirmation of Grove, of the mortgage and mortgage premises to Robert Aglionby Slaney of the Inner Temple, London, Esq., in trust for Richard Whitworth of Adbaston, Staffs., Esq. and otherwise upon trust to attend the freehold; consideration of £190 10/-. [Recites intention by Grove to convey the inheritance to Whitworth.]
DSCAM/2/1/11/7-8: Lease and release (1-2 Oct. 1764) by Richard Whitworth of Batchane Grange, Staffs. and Salop, Esq. (only son and heir and devisee of Richard Whitworth of Adbaston) and Francis Clare of Henwick, Worcs., Esq. (surviving executor of Richard), to Thomas Wainwright of Dudley, Worcs., surgeon, of 4 messuages in High Street, all adjoining, and 2 small tenements in the court behind them; consideration of £200. And related purchase agreement (13 June 1764).
DSCAM/2/1/11/9-10: Agreement (22 Apr. 1795) between John Stokes of Westbromwich, Staffs., ladlers ironmonger and William Griffin of Dudley, draper, and Joseph Hodgetts of Dudley, nail ironmonger, for the tenancy of a small plot of land, the site of a now demolished dwellinghouse, in High Street, Dudley, during the minority of Mary Stokes, at a yearly rent of £2 2/-. Bond of same date from same to same in £84 to procure the execution of the requisite deed of sale (for £42) of the land when Miss Mary Stokes, an infant, is of legal age.
DSCAM/2/1/11/11: Lease and release (16 and 18 May 1795) by Joseph Wainwright of Dudley, surgeon (only son and heir-at-law of Thomas Wainwright, who died intestate), to Joseph Hodgetts, of premises as in #7; consideration of £420.
DSCAM/2/1/11/12-13: Undertaking by Richard Powell to Joseph Hodgetts re the demolition of a brewhouse adjoining Hodgetts' premises, 15 Feb. 1797. Certificate of contract for the redemption of Hodgetts' Land Tax, 21 Mar. 1799.
DSCAM/2/1/11/14-15: Bargain and sale and enfeoffment (3 Sept. 1810) by Mary Ann Stokes of Birmingham, Warwickshire, spinster (devisee in fee of John Hancox), to Joseph Hodgetts of the land in High Street as in #10, on part of which Hodgetts has erected a gig house; consideration of £42.
Attached copy of the will (dated 28 Dec. 1792) of John Hancox of the Graveyard, parish of Sedgley, Staffs., cooper and maltster; clothing to nephew Richard Baker (son of sister Esther), to relation Joseph Baker; subject to payment of debts, inc. £170 to wife's representatives, 2 dwellinghouses in High Street, Dudley upon trust for Frances, wife of John Stokes, daughter of his late brother Joseph, for life, thence houses to her daughter Mary Ann Stokes; personal estate upon trust for sale, £50 and half residue to Elizabeth Griffin, other half in trust for Frances Stokes for life, then to Mary Ann; executors, William Griffin of Dudley, shopkeeper and Elizabeth his wife.

DSCAM/2/1/11/16-17: Lease and release (29-30 Sept. 1823) by Joseph Hodgetts of Dudley, gentleman, to Joseph Hollington of Dudley, grocer, of a capital messuage and appurtenances in High Street, built on the site of the premises acquired by Hodgetts in 1795 and 1810, to the use of John Robinson of Dudley, gentleman, with power of appointment, and otherwise to the use of John for life, then to Elizabeth his wife, for life, thence to their sons, George Robinson, John Robinson the younger and William Robinson, as tenants in common; consideration of £2100. And opinion on Hodgetts' title relative to 'missing' deed of 1737 [see #6 above], by Alexander Hordern, 3 Tanfield Court, Temple, 26 Sept. 1823.

DSCAM/2/1/11/20: Attested copy lease and release (dated 28-29 Sept. 1829) by John Robinson the elder of Dudley, solicitor, George Robinson of Wolverhampton, Staffs., solicitor, John Robinson the younger of Dudley, iron merchant and William Robinson of the same, solicitor, to Benjamin Pitt of Dudley, gentleman, of the capital messuage in High Street, land in Dock Lane, a messuage and lands at Oldswinford, 3 messuages etc. at Wordesley, parish of Kingswinford, 2 messuages at Gosty Hill, parish of Rowley Regis, Staffs. a messuage at Tividale, same parish, a piece of land at Womborne, Staffs.; the capital messuage to the younger Robinsons as tenants in common, charged with £60 p.a. to their father for 3 years, the rest to the use of Robinson the elder for life, thence to the other Robinsons as tenants in common. Examined, 1 Nov. 1841.
