Description | Dated 2nd June 1866 Between: 1. John Jones, Builder, of Sedgley. 2. Miss Ann Sheldon of Coseley. John Jones agreed to take down an old house and buildings at Coseley, and to erect three proposed new houses, brewhouses, and buildings, according to plans and specifications drawn up by Hamlet Durose for Miss Sheldon. The work was to be completed by 31st August 'next'. Attached to the Agreement is correspondence from Hamlet Durose, Architect, about the progress of the building work. Also included is a 'Plan of Proposed New Houses for Miss Ann Sheldon, Rosevilla, Coseley, 1866', drawn by Hamlet Durose. The plan shows the front elevation of the proposed houses, a basement plan showing the cellars; a section through the side of the houses; a chamber plan, showing the bedrooms and closets; and a ground plan, showing kitchens, parlours, brew-houses, ash-pits and outside W.C.'s. Another plan, drawn up by T. Richards, Surveyor, Wolverhampton, in September 1884, shows the 'Property at Roseville, Coseley, belonging to the late Miss A. Sheldon'. This plan shows the location of the houses which were built for Miss Sheldon in 1866, fronting on to Castle Street, Coseley, with their gardens backing on to School Street. |
