AdminHistory | The National Union of Sheet Metal Workers was formed in 1920 when various unions amalgamated to form the National Union of Sheet Metal Workers and Braziers. In 1959 the National Union of Sheet Metal Workers and Braziers amalgamated with the National Society of Coppersmiths, Braziers and Metal Workers to form the National Union of Sheet Metal Workers and Coppersmiths.
Kelly's Directory of Worcestershire, 1940, shows 3 Sheet Metal Works in Lye, Stourbridge. In 1965, meetings of the Union were held at Lye Congregational Schoolroom. From the records, it appears that most Members lived in the Lye, Wollescote, Cradley and Stourbridge areas.
