| Description | Covenant between Arthur Elwell of Sedgley, nail merchant and Sarah Jenkins of Sedgley, widow; both Elwell and Timothy Barnbrook had purchased land from the Devisees in Trust of the late John Elwell in the Manor of Sedgley, and Barnbrook had then sold one of his plots to Sarah Jenkins; whilst the 'deeds, evidences and writings' relating to the property had been delivered to Elwell, as they also relate to land now owned by Sarah Jenkins, Elwell covenants to produce for her, when asked, title deeds from: Surrender by John Hercy and Frances his wife and Henry Smallwood to, and admittance of John Elwell to the premises, 23 April 1844; Indenture between John and Frances Hercy, Henry Smallwood, Charles Fleetwood Hewitt of Dudley, wine merchant and John Elwell, 23 April 1844 and Admittance of Henry Elwell and Henry Moore Willets, devisees in trust, to the premises.
