DescriptionAccount lists name, specifying widows, age, address, husband's name, pit no., date of accident and weekly payment.

The New Colliery Club was thought to have originally been 'a Fund created by deductions from the Chartermasters of the Collieries, together with a proportionate amount paid by the Earl of Dudley. The contributions were banked and certain allowances for Pensions to Dependents of Work-people, and payments to injured work-people, paid'. However, 'for many years' prior to 1924, there were 'no contributions by the Earl of Dudley or the Collieries' and the sole income was a '3/- percent deducted from the Chartermasters' accounts'. This money was transferred to the Baggeridge Colliery Ltd current account in May 1924 by instruction of the Board, payments having been made from the Petty Cash Fund instead after Sir Gilbert Claughton's death. Thenceforth, the payments were to be paid out of exisiting contributions and the wages account rather than keeping a separate club account.
