| Description | Gives a history of Lord Ward's family demonstrating his right to the title and to Dudley Castle. Recites marriage settlements between Ferdinando Sutton and Honor Seymour 13 Jas. [1615] and between the Humble Ward, the son of William Ward Esq. and Frances Sutton 4 Chas. [1628]. Also recites indenture of 1643.
Note: Edward Gibson was the grandson of John Sutton (second son of Edward eighth Lord Dudley) whose claim to the castle and barony in 1660 was referred to the Committee for Priviledges.
