Description | Presentments include election of 'headborough' and appointment of constables. Most are signed by the jury/homage. Presentment for May 1732 states that 'we find that Swindon Bridge is not in so good repare [sic] as it ought to be and we do amerse the supervisor and the head borrow for the said liblerty [sic] of Swinden in the fyn [fine] of one pound ten shillings if they do not repare it before the said first day of June'. In Oct 1732, the constable of Himley (John Shakespeare) is ordered to repair Maidens bridge and Holbache bridge in Himley. Reference to the death of John Woodhouse, son of Joseph Woodhouse Oct 1739. Presentment of May 1751 orders John Bennett to put up two 'stiles or gates for foot people to pass that way as usual' after being 'stopt' be John Hardwick. The death of Samuel Hillier Esq. is noted in Oct 1752: his heir was Samuel Hillier Esq. his son (underage). The presentment for Oct 1753 orders the constableto 'set up a Sufficient pair of Stocks at the usiall [sic] place and Likewise Sufficiently Repair the Pound' (sim Oct 1756). The death of 'the Rt Hon. Ferdinando Dudley Lea Lord Dudley' is noted there being 'two Herriots due to the Lord of this Mannor, and we are informd that the said Lord is satisfied haveing seised two Geldings...'
